Moss & Moon Counseling

The questions before the first step

Frequently Asked Questions

Getting started

How do I begin therapy with you?

Start by filling out the new client inquiry form on this site. I’ll reach out to schedule a free 30 minute consultation, answer your questions, and see whether we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure to commit; the first step is simply making contact.

Do you have a waitlist?

I am currently accepting new clients and am scheudling new clients to establish care within 5-10 days of our first conversation. I limit my schedule to 3-4 clients per day, so space is limited.

Who do you work with?

I work with adults and teens 16+ navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, life transitions, identity, and questions of meaning.

What happens in a first session?

The first session is mostly about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you here, what you’re hoping for, and how I work. You get to feel whether the space feels safe. We go at your pace from the very first meeting.

Sessions and logistics

How long are sessions?

You choose the length that fits: 50 minutes or 75 minutes. Intake sessions are 75 minutes. Intensive sessions for EMDR or ketamine-assisted work run three to four hours.

Do you offer in-person and online therapy?

In-person sessions are held at my office at 731 E. Broad Street, Suite #2, in Columbus. Telehealth sessions are available for clients located anywhere in Ohio.

Where is your office located?

Moss & Moon Counseling is at 731 E. Broad Street, Suite #2, Columbus, OH 43205.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Late cancellations and no-shows may be subject to a fee.

Cost and payment

How much does therapy cost?

Standard sessions are $275 for 75 minutes or $180 for 50 minutes. The intake session is $275. Intensive sessions are $725 for three to four hours.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, on a limited basis. A small number of reduced-fee spots are available at $120 and $150 per 50-minute session. If cost is a barrier, ask when you inquire.

Is there financial support for KAP?

Yes. The Moss & Moon KAP Therapy Fund helps make ketamine-assisted psychotherapy more accessible through Thank You Life. If cost is a barrier, ask about the fund when you reach out.

Do you accept insurance?

I don’t bill insurance directly, which lets me keep your care private. I provide a superbill, an itemized receipt, that you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All major credit cards, Zelle, and HSA or FSA cards. Payment is handled at the time of service.

Approach and modalities

What kind of therapy do you practice?

My work is trauma-informed, relational, and creative. I draw from EMDR, Internal Family Systems, somatic and depth-oriented approaches, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and expressive and nature-based methods, tailored to you rather than forced into one model.

What is KAP?

KAP pairs a legal, prescribed medicine with focused therapy before, during, and after each session. Ketamine can soften the nervous system’s defenses and open access to emotion and insight. See the KAP page for the full picture.

What is EMDR?

EMDR helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they lose their emotional charge, often without needing to retell the trauma in detail. See the EMDR page to learn more.

Do I need to be interested in psychedelics?

Not at all. Psychedelic integration and KAP are part of what I offer, not a requirement. Many clients come for EMDR, trauma work, grief, or talk therapy with no interest in medicine work.

What if I’m not sure what I need?

That’s one of the most common places to begin. You don’t have to arrive with the right words or a clear plan. Not knowing yet is a fine place to start.

Still have questions?

The best answers come from an actual conversation. Reach out, and we’ll take it from there.
