My Approach to Therapy
Therapy with me is collaborative, creative, and uniquely yours.
Ultimately, you are the expert on yourself—and your voice matters in every part of this process. Therapy is not something I do to you. It is a collaborative relationship in which we remain curious together, notice what feels helpful, and adjust when something does not feel right. Your boundaries, readiness, culture, values, lived experience, and ways of making meaning all have a place in the room.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, holistic, and grounded in both evidence-based and creative practices. I draw from a wide range of modalities to meet you where you are, in a way that feels resonant and alive. Depending on your needs, our work may include conversation, mindfulness, nervous-system regulation, somatic awareness, EMDR, parts work, expressive arts, imagery, ritual, or spiritual and existential exploration.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I consider the whole person: your emotional life, body, relationships, environment, history, identity, spirituality, and the protective strategies that helped you survive. We may gently explore not only what is hurting, but what your mind and body have been trying to protect—and what they may need in order to feel safer now.
There is no single correct way to heal. Some sessions may be deeply reflective, while others may be practical, embodied, creative, quiet, or even playful. We will move at a pace that respects your nervous system, without forcing disclosure, insight, forgiveness, or change before you are ready. The goal is not to shape you into someone else, but to help you come into a more trusting, compassionate, and fully inhabited relationship with yourself.

Four Portals of Healing
These are the four pathways where my work is most alive—where depth, creativity, and soul meet healing.
Psychedelic Integration & KAP
Bridging the sacred and the practical.
Psychedelic experiences can open profound doorways—but integration is where the real transformation happens. I offer preparation, support, and extended sessions for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, helping you stay connected to the wisdom that emerges and walk it gently into your daily life.
Creative Process & Expressive Healing
Where art becomes insight.
In our work together, creativity isn’t a bonus—it’s a vital tool. Whether through imagery, writing, movement, or nature, we make space for the nonverbal and the intuitive. This is therapy that listens beyond words and invites play, expression, and self-discovery.
Trauma Healing & Depth-Oriented Care
Tending to what’s been held too long.
Using a trauma-informed, somatic lens, I work with you to gently unfreeze what’s stuck and reconnect with the wisdom of your body. We go at your pace, with reverence for what’s been endured and deep trust in your capacity to heal.
Spiritual/Existential Exploration
For the seekers, the deconstructors, the in-betweeners.
Whether you’re unraveling old beliefs, recovering from spiritual trauma, or craving deeper connection, this is a space where your questions are welcome. Therapy becomes a sacred container for exploring meaning, identity, and the soul’s quiet voice.
Each of these four healing portals draws from a rich and evolving toolkit.

Common Questions About Our Therapy Services
What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)?
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a therapeutic approach that combines low-dose ketamine medicine with guided psychotherapy in a safe, clinical setting. At Moss & Moon Counseling in Columbus, Ohio, KAP sessions are facilitated by Selah Moss, LPC, RN, and offer a powerful pathway for healing trauma, depression, and anxiety when traditional talk therapy alone hasn’t been enough.
What is Psychedelic Integration Therapy?
Psychedelic integration therapy helps you make meaning from psychedelic experiences, whether from ketamine sessions, plant medicine ceremonies, or other non-ordinary states of consciousness. Integration work at Moss & Moon Counseling provides a non-judgmental therapeutic space to process insights, emotions, and shifts in perspective that arise during these experiences.
How Does EMDR Therapy Work for Trauma?
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer trigger overwhelming emotional and physical responses. At Moss & Moon Counseling, EMDR is integrated into a holistic, trauma-informed framework tailored to each client’s unique healing journey.
What Should You Expect During a KAP Session in Columbus, OH?
